Welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Bainsford Primary School. Please browse our website, have a look at our School Handbook or call us for more information.

The decision about where children will attend school is one of the most important decisions families make. Children grow to live in a fast developing technological age. Children need to become lifelong learners who have the capabilities to interpret, adapt, learn and create their own futures through innovation and global awareness.

Children are precious and we want to continue the fantastic work you do. We see our role as that of a partner in the learning journey your child has already begun. It is our responsibility to ensure that we develop a sense of awe and wonder in children. Our curriculum is designed to enable our learners to understand and choose how to deal with situations. We use real life experiences and problems to encourage children to develop an understanding of themselves, their community and the world. We seek out new and creative ways of engaging children in learning experiences that motivate and give them a thirst for knowledge and understanding.

We strive to achieve high academic standards for all children and believe this is best achieved through teaching that is engaging, innovative and personalised to children’s needs. Consistent and accurate assessment ensures learners progress and strive to reach their potential.

Learning how to learn is about discovering what you’re capable of and then being confident to “stretch yourself”. Knowing “where”, “how” and “why” is as important as knowing “what”. That is why we embrace the questions our pupils at Bainsford have. We believe school is a place where children experiment with ideas and thinking in order to make sense of our world. Einstein’s’ mother was reputed to have asked him as a child “what questions did you ask today"?

We believe that all our children are gifted and talented at Bainsford and it is our role in partnership with families to nurture these gifts. It is a privilege for us to take on the responsibility and care of your children and as such we promise to work with you to ensure your child thrives and loves learning.

The best way to get to know our school is to come and see for yourself. We have open days throughout the session and we look forward to welcoming you.

We look forward to travelling with you as your family continues its’ learning journey.

Thank you for your continued support
